HEALTH CARE ACTIVITIES IN Afghanistan

For nearly 13 years now, IbnSina has been a significant health care provider in Afghanistan, and has successfully served deprived communities in some of the most difficult and dangerous regions in Afghanistan, including the notorious Helmand and Zabul provinces, as well as in Kandahar, Bamyan and Pakitiya.  By maintaining a strictly a-political stance, and by adopting a principled practical approach, IbnSina Afghanistan has gained wide acceptance among many highly conservative communities in the country.

IbnSina has a community-based approach to health care provision, and has successfully implemented the Basic Package of Health Services, as mandated by the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan, in different provinces and clusters, for over six years.   Its health care efforts focus primarily on enhancing access of women and children to quality health care, thus contributing directly to lowering maternal and infant morbidity and mortality in the country.
