Following a visit to the Narayana Hrudayalaya Cardiac Institute in Bangalore India, in January 2007, when the President and CEO of IbnSina Afghanistan signed an MOU with the CEO and Founder of this Hospital in Bangalore, IbnSina established a pilot Telemedicine cardiac unit in its Main Office, which was linked to the Narayana Cardiac Institute.
The Telemedicine unit established by IbnSina with the technical and material assistance of the Narayana Institute, was the first such diagnostic service in Afghanistan. Through the charitable support of the Narayana Institute IbnSina has been able to provide diagnostic
cardiac services to ***** Afghans, and has also facilitated the screening and free surgical treatment of 11 Afghan blue babies from indigent families, at the Narayana Hrudayalaya Cardiac Institute.
IbnSina is exploring other areas in which this partnership with the Narayana Cardiac Institute can be further expanded and diversified.
