The IbnSina Afghanistan Program....
IbnSina is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit Afghan NGO, established in November 1996, which has recently started its international operations, with plans for expansion.Founded in November 1996, IbnSina Afghanistan has over a large period of successful experience in Project Management having managed over 60 large projects in 18 provinces of Afghanistan , most of which were basic health care projects. In the past two years alone, IbnSina successfully managed large and small projects with a total budget of over 16 million USD in Afghanistan alone. In addition it has been implementing an emergency health care program in northern Pakistan since October 2005, in earthquake affected areas. Recognizing its excellent management capacity, UNICEF, UNFPA and OXFAM/ NOVIB recently funded expansions and extensions of IbnSina's Pakistan project.

Community Education Resource Centers
In mid- year 2006, IbnSina Afghanistan responded to formal requests from the provincial government authorities and communities in Laghman and Kunar provinces, and took over support of two Community Education Resource Centers in Laghman (Mehterlam and Qarghaie) and one center in Asadabad Kunar.

Health Care Activities in Afghanistan....
IbnSina adopted a community based approach to continue implementing the Basic Package of Health Services in Bamyan, Kabul, Paktiya, Zabul, Helmand and Sar-i-pul provinces, and as trustee of the World Bank, supported Basic Package of Health Care programs in Badakhshan and Ghor provinces, implemented by Aga Khan Development Network and Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance

Health Care Activities in Pakistan....
In Pakistan, IbnSina continued to implement its emergency health relief project in the earthquake-affected northern areas of Pakistan. IbnSina started its interventions in Batagram and Mansehra districts of the North West Frontier Province in October 2005, within days of the violent earthquake that devastated parts of north western Pakistan.

COORDINATION AND COOPERATION....
IbnSina Afghanistan coordinated its programs closely, with related government ministries and provincial offices, as well as with other governmental and non-governmental organizations working in the area.

IbnSina rehabilitated 18 BHCs, 17 CHCs and 6 District Hospitals
In addition to its health care interventions, IbnSina has a full-fledged Engineering department and, in the past years, has rehabilitated and constructed a number of clinics and hospitals, repaired roads, constructed surface and pit latrines and dug wells, and has rehabilitated the drainage systems in different parts of the country.
