Health and Islam
IbnSina Afghanistan, and its Institute of Public Health and Management Sciences (IPHMS), under the leadership of the organization’s President and CEO, have introduced Islam to the world from a new perspective – as an answer to the health
problems the world faces today.
We believe that Islam is the only way to achieve a truly healthy life as defined by global authorities on the subject, and that a person is healthy in proportion to the extent to which he observes the Islamic principles in his day to day life. Dr. Anwarulhaq Jabarkhail, the initiator of this concept, is out to redefine health in relation to Islam, and has set out to debate his understanding of Islam and health, around the world.
Beginning at home, IbnSina has so far sponsored a series of more than a dozen public conferences and lectures on the topic, with Dr. Jabarkhail presenting the concept and then fielding questions from Muslim and non-Muslim audiences
from all walks of life. He has presented his concept to international students and professionals in Pakistan and India, and plans to reach out to people in other countries in the region, as well as in Europe and America.
Recently IbnSina launched its Health and Islam website, which features discussions and lectures on various related topics.
